World of Magic Shop, Products by Mark Elsdon for sale
Before I Forget by Mark Elsdon On this DVD... Mark explains the method and psychology behind his opener, 'Balance' which surely has to be one of the most incredible close-up suspensions ever released. No fake deck, no magnets, yet a deck of cards impossibly defies gravity. Twice! 'No Moves' is a delightfully clean ambitious card routine (wait, hang on!) which climaxes with the selection eerily creeping out of the deck whilst out of the performer's hands! Again, easy to do and entirely self-contained. 'Chaos' is Mark's final handling of his previously marketed 'Chaos and Order' trick. It is that rarest of creatures - a self-working triumph effect. As is Elsdon's way, it is of course so much more than that. How many other card tricks offer entropy throughout the universe as an alternative ending? The opening to a more formal show or stand-up performance, 'Memorisation' looks exactly like the real thing: the performer remembers the order of a shuffled and cut deck. He proves his claim twice and then ups the ante for the finale by claiming to memorise a participant's voice patterns. Packs small, plays massive. 'Celebrities' is a very commercial version of the 'Fred' trick which offers the ultimate synthesis of presentation and method and has the happy side-effect of being the ideal way to hand out your business card. 'Swindl-esque' offers an unusual visit to everyone's secret passion - that's right, binary mathematics! Using number cards for what looks like the most mathematical card trick ever, things turn odd (as usual) as Elsdon seems to become more pre-occupied with the color of a new hat which the spectator may or may not buy of course, amongst all the laughter the chosen number is revealed. 'Pre-prefiguration' is Mark's work on a Jennings effect. It is so clean and direct that one of Larry's friends declared it to be the best trick that he saw during the whole of his lecture tour throughout the UK a few years ago. A borrowed, shuffled deck and a series of escalating, unbelievable co-incidences, climaxing with the revelation of an impossible prediction. Mark also shares the timing and blocking for his handling of card-in-mouth and his presentation for the one rubber band trick that works one-on-one or for an audience of 500. Finally, in 'My Grandfather's Book' Mark engrosses the spectators in some personal history that includes several very unusual coincidences involving an old book and some commemorative playing cards. We don't want to say too much more about this routine, since we know its charm will work best if you don't know what's coming. Running Time: Approximately 1hr 46min

Building on the work of Hamman, Harris, Racherbaumer, Close and others, Mark Elsdon has developed the most commercial handling of "Re-Set" released to date. Four red backed cards change places with four blue backed cards one at a time, and then instantly "Re-Set" back to being reds. The Blue cards are examined and are now found to have Green Backs and when the red packet is checked again the blacks have vanished leaving four blank backed cards! All eight cards may now be examined!! If you enjoy performing magic that simply devastates laymen, then you really should be performing this routine. Complete with all the cards and an instructional DVD.

Chaos 2 by Mark Elsdon
In 1992 Mark devised the original 'Chaos & Order' triumph routine, based on a self-shuffling deck idea that was shown to him by a Chinese magician when he was living out in Hong Kong. A little while later Michael Weber suggested the actual 'Chaos and Order' patter theme, which was incorporated immediately. For a decade Mark performed the routine to a great effect, in all kinds of working environments. Recently, several possible improvements occurred, including a way to increase the number of selections and make the selection process a lot cleaner. One thing led to another.. This new version is a substantial improvement on the original and the assimilation of the "Chaos Machine" into the card case is, we think, the finishing touch.
Effect
Two spectators each select a card which they hold onto. The deck is cut in half and placed face-to-face. The deck is temporarily placed in the "Chaos Machine" (otherwise known as the card case). The 'CHAOS' button is pressed... and the deck is immediately removed and spread to show that all 52 cards are now interlaced face-up and face-down, in a truly chaotic state. Both sides of the deck are shown to be in this condition. The spectators' cards are replaced into the chaotic deck, one face up and one facedown. The deck is once again placed into the "Chaos Machine" and this time the 'ORDER' button is pressed. The deck is cleanly tipped out of the case and spread to show that every single card is face-up except for two - the selections.
EXTREMELY EASY TO DO! ALMOST INSTANTANEOUS RESET! NO SLEIGHT OF HAND REQUIRED! MAY BE PERFORMED WALKAROUND OR AT TABLES!
Comes complete with gimmicked Bicycle deck, 'button' stickers and instructions.

Riser Deck (Blue) by Mark Elsdon
Created over a decade ago, the Riser Deck has long been one of magic's best kept secrets. Previously shared with only a handful of fellow professionals, Mark Elsdon has finally decided to release his show-stopping effect to the general magic community.
At the climax of an ambitious card routine, the performer offers to repeat the effect 'one last time, under test conditions'. The deck is replaced in the case to prevent any possible manipulation by the performer, and the signed selection is held by the spectator. Read carefully now, this is exactly what happens: the spectator himself pushes his own signed card into the cased deck, anywhere he wants - in the middle, near the bottom, wherever. The deck and card can be fully shown face-up if desired as the spectator pushes his selection flush into the deck. The case is closed and given a little shake. The case is re-opened and completely fairly the top card is removed - it is the signed selection!
The spectator can even remove the card himself if you choose, but with an effect this powerful, we're sure that you'll want to take the credit yourself!
Remember: only one card is pushed into the deck and it really is the signed selection, there is no switch. The spectator genuinely can push his selection into the deck anywhere he chooses. The selection and cased deck can be fully shown on all sides as the selection is pushed flush into the deck. When you re-open the case the selection really is on top! It looks absolutely impossible. Almost any conditions you can dream up, the Riser Deck meets them all.
Each Riser Deck is individually hand-made to Mark Elsdon's exact specifications by world-renowned master-craftsman Rob Bromley. The work that goes into this ingenious deck is the result of countless hours of collaboration, tweaking the design and construction to make it perfect. The incorporation of Bromley's innovative 'W-Principle' provides the finishing touch. The result is an innocent-looking performance prop that is destined to take its place in the repertoires of professional magicians around the world and is sure to become the classic ending for any ambitious card routine.
The Riser Deck comes complete with handmade gimmick and full instructional dvd!
This is what the Pros have to say about The Riser Deck
"How cool! A deck that does the pass for me INSIDE the box. Can you make a deck that does the top change for me?" - Nate Kranzo
"The Riser Deck is not only clever and novel, it is a logical ending that increases the impossibility of a standard Ambitious Card routine. Mark definately has a winner here that anyone can do." - Angelo Carbone
"Mark has found a practical yet astounding finish to the Ambitious Card. Based on Daryl's Ultimate Ambition, 'The Riser' happens with the deck sealed in the card case!" - Joshua Jay
"I love to be fooled and the Riser Deck just fooled me...badly. I can't wait for its release so I can find out how it's done!" - Peter Duffie
"I was fooled, and fooled badly!" - Christopher Williams

The One With The Trivial Suit Card by Alakazam Magic
If you like mentalism you are going to love this!
Effect
The performer introduces a packet of Trivial Pursuit cards and places them on the table. He then turns away and need not look at or touch the cards again. The spectator is instructed to cut into the cards and take one out. He looks over the questions on the card and decides on one but tells no one. Following a prelude test dealing with the category of the question that has been chosen, the performer writes something on a piece of paper, folds it up and hands it to the spectator. The spectator is asked to read aloud the question, and then turn the card over and read the answer out. Next he is asked to open the paper and read what the performer wrote. He does so and it is the exact same answer! The performer asks that the cards be handed to a different person. This person is also asked to cut into the cards and take one out. He too chooses a question. This time the performer writes nothing down, he simply announces both the category and the answer to the question the spectator is merely thinking of!
1.Yes, both spectators' cards are different.
2.Yes the cards can all be shown to be different at the beginning and end of the routine.
3.Yes, the spectator can cut anywhere.
4.No, neither spectator writes anything down or tells anyone his selection.
5.Yes, the performer can still reveal the answer to the thought of question even if the spectator doesn't know it himself!
6.Yes, the spectator can freely choose any of the questions on the card he takes, they are all different and no, it's not the same one every time!

Whacked Book Test by Mark Elsdon
Effect
The performer introduces a book, "Dave Gorman's Googlewhack Adventure", which he says he has enjoyed reading recently. After briefly explaining the concept of 'Googlewhacking', he passes the book to a member of the audience, who looks through the book and eventually decides on one of the 'Googlewhacks'. After some typically funny byplay and a couple of false starts, the performer gets serious and tries a proper test. He detects subtle inflections in the participant's voice and is able to discern specifically which letters the participant is thinking about and consequently the exact words which comprise his chosen 'Googlewhack'. The participant is allowed to keep the book as a gift and a souvenir.
So what exactly is 'Whacked!'? It is a 10 minute mind-reading routine which revolves around Dave Gorman's best-selling book "Googlewhack Adventure". If you've no idea what that is, you can bring yourself up to speed by heading over to http://www.davegorman.com/googlewhack
You receive everything you need to perform this incredible routine, including full details of Mark's script and psychological approach - which is one of the things that lifts 'Whacked!' head and shoulders above so many other book-tests. The presentation has been honed over many, many performances for a wide variety of audiences, which ensures that the routine plays as well for a group of top professionals at a business luncheon as it does for a crowd of hip college students at a birthday party. The presentation is funny, sophisticated and guaranteed to deliver a great audience reaction every time it is performed.
The technical demands on the performer are minimal: no pre-show, no forces, no anagrams to remember and the book used, "Dave Gorman's Googlewhack Adventure" is absolutely normal and may be given away at the end of each performance (in fact we encourage you to do so!) The 'method' is entirely self-contained and will withstand the closest scrutiny. There literally is nothing for any spectator or participant to 'see'. Also, there are no extraneous props - everything used to perform 'Whacked!' is entirely natural to the proceedings, with no justifications required for any aspect of the handling. This leaves the mentalist free to concentrate on just one thing: entertaining his audience.
Finally, you'll be pleased to know that the principles and techniques used to accomplish 'Whacked!' are not dependent on the use of Dave Gorman's book and that ANY book may be used in ANY language. This booklet contains full instructions on how to alter the method for use with other books. Whilst not impromptu, the preparation is minimal and does not need to be repeated for subsequent performances. The method makes use of modern technology, but there is nothing to break, run out or let you down during a performance.
'Whacked!' is not another book-test to add to your collection. It is a fully developed, real-world performance piece designed to be used by a professional performer at paid shows.

Zenner-Tech by Mark Elsdon
Effect
A standard pack of ESP cards is displayed to the audience, and one of each symbol is removed: circle, star, wavy lines, square and cross. The performer sticks a small white sticker to the back of each one (the spectator can check that they really are stuck) and mixes them up. The spectator freely decides which of the five symbols to draw on each card, with no forces, equivoque or other hokey magician's ploys.
One by one the cards are flipped over (the spectator can flip the cards over himself) and each card perfectly matches what is drawn on its back! Oh yeah, and the cards may be fully examined
Zenner-Tech is a very direct and commercial ESP test. No extraneous props, no 'sticky' cards and no sleights. It is perfect for a formal close-up or mentalism performance or as an encore piece when you need to perform a killer closer. The spectator makes all the decisions and yet the outcome is guaranteed, every time! If you want to add a stunning mental effect to your repertoire, then Zenner-Tech fits the bill.
