The imagery of words used as tools of creative inspiration.
Here is what James Luce had to say after reading this book:
"I Just wanted to announce my most joyous experience I had when reading Brother Kotah's new book "A Darker Light. All I can say is wow! He has created works which will tug on hearts and intrigue the mind with the vivid imagery of his story telling.
Among my favorites are Amanda's Last Breath, a heart jerker where meaningful words are manifested from the loss of someone special. Oh What a Tangled Web... where a spiders web is a metaphor for lies. This ends with a visual surprise! Money Does Not a Restless Spirit Soothe, Where the spirits of mistreated workers comeback and avenge an insult the company ensues upon their families.
It is obvious from reading Ronald J. Dayton's creations that he is a very talented writer and cares deeply about his art. You can count me amongst his fans. May your inquisitive mind bloom and creations blossom." This excursion into the world of Bizzarism is a collection of powerful but simple bizarre effects as well as poems and stories useful for atmosphere and just plain getting you in the ookie mood. Set to release in February, this book features over 30 bizarre effects presented in story form. Not for the novice, this book simply hints at methodology, preferring instead, as with all good bizarre magick, to focus on the presentation and mood. Bizarre magick seems to be the final progression for many entertainers. We grow tired of amusing only ourselves, and seek to add real power and amazement to what we do. As we venture into the work of magick, with a K- the real stuff, we often find that our traditional performances shift as well. We move from one who simply does tricks, into the ranks of one who entertains, and that dear friends is real magic! A Darker Light will be printed in soft cover 8.5" X 11" format, and is sure to please the dark side of your performers soul.

By Darkness Influenced by KOTAH and Ronald J. Dayton A unique and varied collection of magic, this 121-page book is best described by the following excerpt from the book's Foreword: ... Though oceans of material flood from Mr. Dayton's prolific mind, the magical ideas he puts forth are always sound in method and straightforward in application. With his combination of historical knowledge, concentrated ability to work out magical gimmicks, and a focused creativity which allows wonderful stories to unfold magically, one encounters a rare commodity in the Magical World indeed: A "thinking-magician's magician." You're holding in your hands a thoughtful volume of some of Ron's (and Kotah's) most prized work. In this book you'll find a range of magic you can actually perform... close-up, cabaret, parlor, even on stage. You'll find concepts and ideas that will inspire you and transport your imagination to new places. You'll discover that the magic genre known as "Bizarre Magic" is not just for a chosen or peculiar few, but consists of emotionally satisfying stores, presentations, and magic... each and every magician can incorporate into his repertoire to refresh his show and elevate his art. Like any raging fire, Ron thrives on fuel... and that fuel is often in the comments and feedback he receives from other performers, so if anything... or everything... if this volume moves you, excites you, or motivates you to change and improve the way you do your Magic, write him and let him know. Dear Reader, the future of Magic is yours, and the Art is within your own hands! Magically, Walt Anthony Spellbinder Entertainment San Francisco, Summer 2005

The Dayton Wallet by Ron Dayton
Effect
Attention all Wallet Collectors and performers who have come to know Ron for quality and simplicity of thinking!
Announcing the Dayton Wallet Workshop!!! For sometime this simple but clever idea was shared with a select few subscribers to Oracle Magazine. Now, in new forma, Ron shares for the first time with the magic community at large, his Dayton Wallet.
This is a simple Do-It-Yourself project for the magician or mentalist. With a few simple tools and a few minutes of your time, you can create a magician's loading wallet that is charming in the ease of operation and versatility.
Specifically, this is what would be considered a loading wallet, allowing you to load a card, or any small object in to your wallet as needed. It could similarly be used to steal any small object from within your wallet, and peeked at later.
This thorough 10-page color monograph is available as a glossy printed booklet, or as an E book, your choice- It takes you step by step through the process of creating this simple but powerful utility device (And best of all, you can make as many of these wallets for your own use as you like- all for the price of the manuscript!)
But the HOW-TO is only one half of the value of this little gem. The other half is the two routines which Ron has supplied.
First- A deck is riffle shuffled and a spectator is given free choice to cut the deck at any point, and place their cut-to card face down on the table. You do not touch the card at this point. The freely selected card is marked with a sharpie on the BACK and SIGNED by the spectator on the face. The spectator replaces the card on the deck.
You attempt to name their unseen card using your psychic ability (Body Language, finger tip sight or whatever you like) However, you name the WRONG CARD. (Gasp- Oh No!)
Not to be outdone, you take the card (Marked back still visible and showing on the top of the deck) and turn it over, showing that the marked card, which previously WAS their signed card, now is NOT the card they signed, but the (apparently wrong) card that you divined earlier. You toss this card onto the table, commenting- "Of course THAT couldn't be your card...Your card is in my wallet!" (And sure enough, when you open the ZIPPERED COMPARTMENT of your wallet, they can reach in and pull out their card.. Signed on the face, marked on the back!
The tabled card is wiped on your sleeve and the mark that was seen on its back (Now clearly back on the selected card where it started) has vanished!
Now...The BEST thing about this trick is that it does not require any palming, no controlling of the selected card and the spectator will believe they see their card plainly right up until the instant it vanishes! How? As Ron says in the booklet- Through Subterfuge and lies!
The second routine, for those of you who are familiar with Ron's Bizarre writings such as "Darker Light" and "By Darkness Influenced", is a bizarre version of the same routine. Enjoy a story of a Soldier and a deck of cards from the 1800's. Gambling with the Devil's Pasteboards. A treat for you lovers of storytelling and the bizarre.
