Dai Vernon And Richard Turner Poster (Signed)
This richly colored poster features two of the all-time great magicians: Dai Vernon and Richard Turner!
Signed by Richard Turner himself and with a quote from Dai Vernon about Turner, this poster is a definite must-have for all magic collectors out there. This poster is part of a limited print run, so get yours while you still can!
Dai Vernon is known as The Man Who Fooled Houdini. Harry Houdini challenged anyone to try and fool him with a trick and claimed that if he could see the trick performed 3 times he would be able to figure it out. Dai Vernon met this challenge, and after performing an old version of The Ambitious Card eight times, Houdini was at a loss for how the trick was done.
When it comes to card manipulation, Richard Turner is in a class of his own! He performs the most difficult card moves out there, and he has been written about and featured on television specials all over the world. An expert card mechanic, Richard Turner has also trained in many martial arts styles and is a fifth-degree black belt. His life story is quite compelling, to say the least, and he has been called the Greatest Card Mechanic Of All Time.

Dai Vernons Tribute to Nate Leipzig. Over 200 pages on the finest paper, beautifully bound in cloth with a four-color dust jacket. A real classic for the discerning magical enthusiast. PLUS--a newly added biographical chapter by David Goodsell. A skillful combination of fascinating biographical detail and carefully described magical secrets produce a volume that has a unique place in magical literature.Leipzig was one of the gentlemen of magic, with an endearing, quiet style that captured every audience for which he performed. He performed small tricks, like the Penny Out of a Glass of Beer and large tricks like his Cabaret Card-Stab. These and a multitude of others are described by Lewis Ganson in precise detail as passed on by the one and only Dai Vernon. |

The Vernon Chronicles Begin The Lost Inner Secrets-Volume One In 1963 Dai Vernon was invited by The Academy of Magical Arts to move to Hollywood, CA and become the resident "living legend" at the Magic Castle. Upon hearing this news, two young close-up artists packed up and moved cross country to Hollywood, just to sit at the feet of "The Professor". These two men were Bruce Cervon and Larry Jennings. During a three-year period in the early 1960s, they spent every minute they could with Dai Vernon-and each night Bruce Cervon went home and carefully recorded everything he had learned. Cervon's notes grew to fill fourteen large binders. Among the inner circle, these became known as The Castle Notebooks, and their content was much coveted and speculated upon. Within these notebooks were known to lie fabulous secrets and tricks, knowledge gathered and guarded by The Professor over a lifetime in magic that spanned seventy years-secrets that were kept from print and were reserved for the use of a very privileged few. Beginning with this volume, the legendary Castle Notebooks are being opened to the magical community. Bruce Cervon, with the aid and permission of Dai Vernon, and in co-operation with Larry Jennings and Louis Falanga, is releasing this massive body of invaluable knowledge. Volume One contains more than fifty sleights, tricks and routines with cards and coins. They are fully explained in these pages for the first time. The material is vintage Vernon, the magic that made him a legend among magicians; expert magic that has made one reputation and will make others. Included are rich insights into the thinking and psychology that is known as "The Vernon Touch," and historical anecdotes that are both entertaining and informative. Numerous rare photos and pieces of memorabilia from The Professor's private collection have been added, as well as a biographical essay on him by Elizabeth Wilson. There are very few books that recognized as a classic before they reach press, this volume is one such book. 235 pages, hardboundwith dustjacket.

Further Lost Inner Secrets Further Lost Inner Secrets-Volume Three This third volume of The Vernon Chronicles offers another generous serving of superb magic from the repertoire of magic's most revered Professor, Dai Vernon. The book opens with a special essay, which surveys a cross section of the close-up magic being done by New York City's avant-garde during the seminal 1920s and 1930s. William P. Miesel constructed the skeleton of this historical excursion from columns in the old Sphinx magazine. Prominent there were Dai Vernon and his friends; people like Sam Horowitz, Ted Anneman and Luis Zingone. Mr. Miesel selected some of their more intriguing effects and, in collaboration with Dai Vernon, Max Maven, Bruce Cervon and Stephen Minch, the methods were reconstructed as accurately as is possible. This study is an imporatant historical document, and revealing in the life of Dai Vernon. We then resume the pleasant task of recording another large portion of Dai Vernon's unpublished work. Included are many little-known sleights and tricks with cards, coins and bills. The magic ranges from the nearly self-working to the consummately skillful. And, at long last, here is an explanation of the near legendary "Joker Monte" trick that Mr. Vernon used for decades to tease and baffle fellow magicians. His original method is given, along with new ideas by Tom Gagnon and Bruce Cervon. Like the second volume of this series, a generous seasoning of magic by Dai Vernon's friends, both past and present, is included. Among those represented are Arthur Finley, Sam Horowitz, Henry Christ, "One-Armed" MacDonald, Dr. Daley, Faucett Ross, Herb Zarrow and Bruce Cervon. This volume continues the pageant of exquisite magic that helped to justify Dai Vernon's reputation as one of this century's most important innovators and champions of artistic conjuring. 219 pages, hardbound with dustjacket.

History was made September 2-6, 1982 in a filming studio in St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada, as the life and magic of Dai Vernon was permanently recorded for future generations. Inspired by Bill Larsen, the project was undertaken by Videonics, owned and operated by Hans Zahn. The co-hosts of the filming project were Michael Ammar, Gary Ouellet and Steve Freeman.
L & L Publishing has now taken this original footage, digitally re-mastered it and released it on 8 DVDs. Not only can we learn by actually seeing and hearing the Professor at work, but our great grandchildren and their great grandchildren will be taught that most elusive of crafts by the grandest master of them all.
Some of the important points to be considered are:
* The format is that of a jam session, with Vernon discussing his tricks, moves and routines, and generally holding court. * All the moves, techniques, routines, tips and handlings discussed are actually performed by Vernon or one of the co-hosts, along with a complete explanation. * Roughly half of the subjects covered relate to the published record; half the material was new and disclosed for the first time (at the time of the video shoot). * Many times, Vernon teaches important new techniques on the Vernon classics, including improvements, or previously undisclosed handlings, even as regards the famous Stars of Magic effects. * Some world famous routines, such as the Coins in Champagne Glass or the Fred Kaps Coins and Silk (invented by Vernon and taught to Kaps) are publicly revealed. * Important revelations about the Erdnase techniques, which Vernon has spent a lifetime studying, form a major part of the material. The idea behind these videos was to capture Vernon live so future magicians can experience him. No magician should miss these videos. Dai Vernon was the Dean of modern magic and he shares great things on these tapes.
